RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME

WHAT IS RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME

Restless leg syndrome (RLS) is a neurological condition that is classified by the persistent and overwhelming need to move one’s legs while resting. RLS is categorized as both a sleep disorder and movement disorder. The symptoms of RLS can begin at any age, however this sleep disorder primarily affects middle-aged to older adults. Restless leg syndrome affects one’s ability to fall asleep and stay asleep which can lead to lower performance in daily activities.

  • Nighttime leg twitching
  • Daytime sleepiness and exhaustion
  • Reduced daytime productivity
